Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits
Andy Smith has worked for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits for the past 8 years and is currently an Area Manager in the Jacksonville Beaches Area. He has had an amazing career in the Sales and Hospitality business for over 25. With his current lead in Wine and Spirits sales and management, he has also been an instrumental management component at several fine dining restaurants, country clubs and resorts.
Andy’s love for wine led him down the path where he is today, becoming an Advanced Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. In addition to this prestigious achievement, he also holds several other notable wine education certifications. He has hosted hundreds of wine dinners, staff trainings and educational events in his tenure and has a gift for explaining wine to fit all levels of audience.
He was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach but left for the United States Airforce after high school in which he was able to travel the world. After completing his time with the USAF, he found himself in Northern California where he got the wine bug. He volunteered his time at several wineries during their harvests, soaking up as much knowledge as he possibly could working with winemakers, enologist and viticulturalists as well. Opportunities presented themselves in the wine industry and he decided it was time to move back home to Jacksonville and put all that knowledge he had absorbed to good use. This is where his local expertise paid off and he started working in the hospitality business creating top tier wine programs that gained awards such as the Wine Spectators “Best of Award of Excellence” and many others.
His current role at SGWS allows him to lead and mentor a dedicated team of sales professionals that focus on Restaurants, Hotels and Country Clubs covering the coastline.
