This popular event was an early sell-out last year. Guests will delight in this Whiskey Wine & Wildlife wine cruise with Captain Phillip. Tour the enchanting waters that surround Jekyll Island and engage in this most unique wine tasting experience. The cruise will embark at 11:00 am from the public wharf located opposite the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Along with the wine tastings, guests will be able to indulge in some light food preparations as they experience a different perspective of beautiful Jekyll Island, coupled with the insights and "local" knowledge that only Captain Phillip can render.

Whiskey Wine & Wildlife will present a series of 4 educational classes and seminars, presented by a selection of our participating talent. Our W3 Master Class Pours will appeal to all persons whether you are a novice, an expert or just someone who enjoys the opportunity to get up close and personal with these talented masters and have a little fun. Not to be missed, these classes sell out quickly and have limited ticket availability.

Tickets: $50 per person, per class.

Class Schedule:

1:00 pm: Class 1 - Craft Brews & Cheese

  • Kick off W3’s Master Class series sampling a selection of craft brews from Savannah’s own Southbound Brewing Company.  Founder and Brewmaster, Smith Matthews, will lead you through a tasting of current release and long-time favorite IPAs they brew.  Golden Isle restaurant favorite, The Farmer & The Larder, will have their team on deck as well, preparing an assortment of blue cheese bites paired with each brew to enhance the experience!

2:00 pm: Class 2 - Everything You Wanted to Know About Bourbon (But Were Afraid to Ask)

  • With over 40 years of experience in the distilled spirits world and deep involvement with a vast number of bourbon/whiskey associations, boards and organizations in the heart of Kentucky Bourbon country, Chicken Cock Whiskey Master Distiller, Gregg Synder, has some serious bourbon knowledge he wants to impart.  From Bourbon’s rich history to our governments official bourbon regulations to production and aging Synder will share with you the perfect dose of “need to know bourbon" knowledge.  Best of all attendees to this session will taste first hand the history and practices discussed through a tasting of Chicken Cock Whiskey’s current releases.

3:00 pm: Class 3 - SOULful Tastes with Chef Todd Richards

  • Acclaimed Chef and Author Todd Richards will demonstrate how to prepare his Georgia Shrimp with XO Sauce, Broccoli Puree from One Flew South, Atlanta, Georgia. Advanced Sommelier, Eric Crane with Empire Distributors will join pair wines and a special Uncle Nearest whiskey tasting with Todd’s tasty bites. Chef Todd is Culinary Director for Jackmont Hospitality, which owns One Flew South and Chicken + Beer, located in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He is also the Author of SOUL: A Chef’s Culinary Evolution in 150 Recipes.

4:00 pm: Class 4 - Brown Forman

  • The perfect ending to an afternoon of imbibing, the Brown Forman Family will be sharing the flavors of two of their most distinct Whiskey Families – Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey and The GlenDronach Single Malt Scotch Whisky.  Attendees will discover the breadth of the whiskey world as they sample some of the best small batch Kentucky straight bourbons from Woodford alongside the finest richly sherried single malt whiskies of The GlenDronach out of Scotland.  This informative and tasty session will be the ideal warm-up for the evening’s Whiskey Inspired!

Enjoy whiskey, wines and beer, along with a showcase of whiskey inspired classic cocktails and culinary delights. Many tastings will be whiskey inspired - from savory, to decadent sweets! Some of the South’s leading, award-winning celebrity chefs and renowned Golden Isles and Lowcountry superstars will be showcasing their special recipes. The beautiful Westin Jekyll Island provides the perfect backdrop for an al fresco evening, oceanfront under the stars with live music.

It’s a full afternoon of stages with cooking and wildlife demonstrations, music and more. The silent auction features great packages, with art, travel, and food and drink packages that benefit the Jekyll Island Foundation.

The grand finale brunch will be the Westin’s culinary team showcase – with Champagne, whiskey cocktails, Bloody Mary Bar, culinary delights and more, enjoy our legendary finale, all the while taking in the laid back beach vibe.

NOTE: Brunch seating tickets will be on a first come, first served basis. Groups of 6+ should make advance reservations to ensure same table seating. Seatings will be staged by the following times:

  • Seating Period 1: 11:00-11:30 arrival
  • Seating Period 2: 12:15-12:45 arrival
  • Seating Period 3: 1:30-2:00 arrival

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife is a culinary destination weekend with collaboration between The Westin Jekyll Island, the Jekyll Island Authority and The AdFish Group.  The weekend’s events will raise funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation, with a mission of conservation, education and historic preservation efforts on Jekyll Island.
