TALENT: Vince Barrett
Vince Barrett has been in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years. Vince started his career with humbles roots by starting out as a dishwasher and moved quickly through the culinary side of the hospitality industry where he became a renowned Executive Chef for many leading Restaurant groups in the greater Boston area.
Prior to joining New Castle Hotels, Vince was the President and owner of Network Hospitality Consultants, which owned and operated 2 hotels and a 4 star Inn with a large restaurant / catering operation. Vince was also with several industry leaders such as Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Interstate Hotels, Beacon Hotels, and The Iyannough Management where he held such Positions as General Manager, Corporate Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Operations, and Director of Food & Beverage, Corporate Executive Chef and Executive Chef. Vince is also a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (C.F.B.E.) by the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
In 1996, he joined New Castle Hotels as a Food & Beverage Specialist assisting in the opening of the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax, Nova Scotia, The Sheraton Hotel in Waterbury CT. Then was brought on as Vice President of Food & Beverage / Managing Director of Provender & Special Projects Manager for New Castle Hotels & Resort overseeing the development of the food & beverage operations as it pertains to the Training of associates in Culinary concepts, service, menu development, food & beverage marketing and new concept designs and implementation. During this time, Vince has been involved in the construction development and building of 32 hotels as well the development of restaurant concepts such as Basil’s, The Limestone Grille, Godfrey’s Grille, Rioja’s, SB&G, The Reserve Steakhouse, Salty’s and The Ripley Grille. Vince currently oversees the 21 operating hotels and 6 hotels that are under development.
Vince also oversees all the Rooms Division Operations, including housekeeping, were in 2016 Vince revamped all the tools, chemicals and training support of this department to bring it into the 21st century with regards to how guest rooms are cleaned and serviced today as compared to 25 years ago. Since the roll out of the new Housekeeping Programing, the company has seen great success in associate retention, productivity and morale.
Vince also participates on several Food & Beverage Advisory Boards, such as the American Hotel & Lodging Associations F&B Advisory Board, and Marriott Hotels & Resort Food & Beverage Advisory Board.
Vince has developed a partnership with Johnson & Wales University in Providence Rhode Island, where he has created a personalized curriculum for NCHR for all of New Castle Hotels’ Chefs, the Directors of Catering and the Director’s of Food & Beverage to attend an intense week long program focusing in on the culinary and beverage aspects of the hospitality industry.

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife is a culinary destination weekend with collaboration between The Westin Jekyll Island, the Jekyll Island Authority and The AdFish Group. The weekend’s events will raise funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation, with a mission of conservation, education and historic preservation efforts on Jekyll Island.
