TALENT: Robert Rome

Robert is a recent graduate of the Culinary Program at College of Coastal Georgia. A Columbus, GA native prior to moving to Brunswick, Chef Rome worked at a number of establishments in Columbus and the North Ga mountains. Most recently, he worked under James Beard nominated Chef Matthew Raiford as Sous-Chef and led the kitchen teams at his Farmer and the Larder and Strongroots Provisions restaurants.


Chef Rome proudly accepts the moniker of a Southern chef and portrays this through his unique contemporary southern food style. Health contentious patrons are amazed at the way he can transform fat laden classics of the south into bites they don’t have to feel guilty about or, his ability to infuse exotic flavors into standard southern fare. Having cooked for the likes of Jennifer Gardner, Rome still feels the most accomplished as a chef when he cooks wholesome living foods for loved ones.

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife is a culinary destination weekend with collaboration between The Westin Jekyll Island, the Jekyll Island Authority and The AdFish Group.  The weekend’s events will raise funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation, with a mission of conservation, education and historic preservation efforts on Jekyll Island.
